Your terms and conditions of use

The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions from our website. Placing an order indicates your acceptance of these terms, and you will be asked to agree to these terms and conditions before completing your order. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Restricted Items for Delivery

Customers within the UK are subject to some restrictions.

Aerosols: Due to UK legislation beyond our control, we cannot send any aerosol cans via post.

Acrylic Paints (Tinlets/Jars): The size of each tinlet or jar cannot exceed 150ml. No more than four tinletts/jars per order/package. Were the customer orders more than four tinlets/jars per order, we will send four randomly chosen tinlets/jars and refund the remaining.

Enamel Paints (Tinlets/Jars): We cannot send enamel or oil based paints.

Thinners: We cannot send Thinners or any other flamable liquids.

Customers from outside and within the UK should be aware that Royal Mail no longer allow certain items. These include, but are not limited to, Areosols, Lithium Batteries, Corrosives, Flamable Liquids, Toxic Liquids, Solvent Based Paints, Varnishes, Enamel Paints and Liquids over 1 litre. Should any customer purchase any of these items and choose Royal Mail, we will refund the customer for the items we can't post. If you do need these items for delivery, you'll need to choose the courier option.

Shipping and postage

The customer accepts that it is their sole responsibility to ensure adequate insurance and/or tracking by selecting the appropriate delivery service. Royal Mail 1st class is not an insured, tracked or next day service and the customer accepts that lost items cannot be claimed for or replaced, unless at their own expence. The customer accepts that during peak days, it may not be possible to ship the order until the following day. As we are closed (Shop & Mail Order) on Mondays, you accept that postage is not always possible on this day.

Where items are not in stock

Modellers Mecca Ltd, will order the items required the same day you place your order. When the item arrives in stock, it will be dispatched to you on that same day. The customer accepts that we cannot control the speed of delivery from our suppliers and must therefore accept that delivery may take upto 28 days from the date of order.

Discontinued items

While we strive to ensure our stock availability data is accurate, there may be instances where discrepancies occur. The customer accepts that in such unlikely cases, where an item shows in stock but actually isn't, we will order the item and forward it on to the customer. The customer must accept that items ordered that are since discontinued, will be refunded and no compensation can be made.

Loyalty Card (Online & In Store)

The minimum spend to earn reward points or a reward stamp is £25. In store, one stamp is earned for a purchase over £25. Customers are limited to one stamp per day. A completed reward card will entitle the customer to £10 off any purchase over £25. On our website, for each £10 spent one reward point is earned, when the total order is over £40. One reward point provides the customer with £0.20 to redeem on their next purchase or leave to accumulate with further orders. Points earned online are rewarded to the customer’s account once the order has been shipped. Where a customer orders online, points will be earned online and a stamp on your card cannot be claimed if collecting the order from our store. Any reward stamp must be issued at the time of purchase and any failure to issue a stamp at this time (whether by fault of the customer or Modellers Mecca Ltd) cannot then be issued. Some items, such as special offers or promos, may not qualify for a reward stamp or points. We will make the customer aware of this at the time of purchase. All products on our website will clearly state how many points can be earned by purchasing the product, and how much this amounts to in £GBP. Reward points are not given online for items in categories; Catalogues, Books & DVD’s or Services.

Where the customer is a member of a model railway club or society, and we have agreed in advance a member discount, these customers will not qualify for a reward stamp or points online unless they do not wish to take their member discount.

A completed reward card or points earned online cannot be exchanged for or treated as cash. Only one completed reward card can be redeemed per purchase.

Where a customer requires a refund in store for a product that contributed to earning a stamp, the loyalty card will be required with the purchase receipt so it can be voided and a new loyalty card issued with one less stamp. For refunds made to online purchases, reward points are automatically deducted from the customers’ total.

We reserve the right to decline the issue of a stamp or online reward points for any reason we see fit.

Clearance & Sale Items

Items that we reduce to clear at below trade price (Half Price Sale etc) cannot be returned for a refund. They can only be returned for exchange. The buyer must pay any postal costs for their returns and ensure adequate insurance and tracking to satisfy it's safe return.

Annual Holidays

During our annual holidays, and on Tuesdays following any Bank Holiday, it is not possible to post orders out. You can find out when our annual holidays are on our About Us page, as we always give plenty of notice to our customers. By placing an order during our holiday period, you agree that your order will be shipped on our return. Should you wish to cancel your order during this time, you must email us via our contact page before 2pm on the day of reopening to prevent the order being shipped, and a full refund can be given.
